Couple Inga Rasmussen, 85, and Karsten Tüchsen Hansen, 89, first met just over two years ago and have seen one another every day for the past year. Due to lockdown, there’s been a problem: Inga is from Denmark, while Karsten is from Germany. Now the countries’ borders have been shut, the couple is no longer allowed to cross into the other territory to see each other.
Not to be deterred, Inga and Karsten have made a plan to be together: by meeting at the border German/Danish border crossing where they can sit, safely distant, while they talk and share their time. The mayor of the local town, Tonder, made the fond discovery while cycling past one day, and shared the romantic story on Facebook.
